SOPHIA GARCIA DUSABLON is a student at American University, majoring in political science with a focus in comparative politics. She is a dedicated student and is particularly passionate about the growth and strength of democracy across the world. Through working on case studies in courses and experiences studying overseas in Spain, Belgium, and Australia, she has gained important experience in comparative analysis of countries. This experience goes beyond the classroom through the various internships she was able to complete in her undergraduate career.
At the United States-Spain Council she worked closely with Council Members and the Honorary Chairman, Congressman Joaquin Castro, to further US-Spanish relations in the economic, political, social, and educational sectors. While studying in Brussels, she also participated in a full-time internship at INTEREL EUROPE, a leading consultancy firm, where she focused on EU affairs from healthcare to investment.
